Couple of weeks ago, there was a news column about a person, who sells lottery tickets for living. I am going to narrate how he showed his honesty even in the times of survival struggle, where he could haven been accepted by the society even after cheating because money rules the world. I am not going to say either his name or his state, just to avoid region and religion connections that can be drawn while concluding. But why I want to tell about him is; I keep hearing from many is that, world has been bad, people losing their morale and etc. This is for the people who are giving upon the world and to request them to have faith and trust on each other. Here it goes...
Ramesh sells lottery tickets for living and he is so kind that he also sells them on credit to some daily laborers. Whole day his job is to sell lottery tickets and live on the commission that he gets. He goes and sells in a place where people can stop by and buy a ticket to check their luck. Suresh is an employee at port and every day morning he meets and asks Ramesh to pick a lottery ticket and keep it for him and while returning from work he will pay the amount and checks if he won anything. This routine business has been going for a while till that day. As usual that day also Suresh asked Ramesh to pick a ticket and went to work. During the second part of the day, Suresh got a call and there was a happy yell saying, you have won millions of rupees and an innova vehicle too. The person who called is nothing but Ramesh. Suresh never asks which ticket number he has been allotted by Ramesh. This made him run to Ramesh to check is it not a prank. When he met Ramesh, he realized it is absolutely true and he is a millionaire now and there ends his life struggle and from there on happy moments.
What Ramesh did is the act of honesty. Ramesh is also in need of money as Suresh is, as a matter of fact much more based on their income sources. Ramesh proves that there is nothing above honesty and to survive you do not have to cheat the world. What is the use of millions when you lose morale. Ramesh is the saint who achieved eternal bliss without leaving the society. The lessons I have learned from his act is honesty, friendship, unselfishness, kindness.
I would be glad to here it from you the lessons if I have missed any from this story...
